The Wishing Well Book Awards 20/3/2025

To Sum it up:

A fascinating  insight into a life  of cycling, perfect for fans  of the sport

Readers' Comments

*Enjoyed it.  Very much a light read. The Author's no Hemingway  but the workmanlike  writing style did the job. A little history, a little travel, a lot of sport, Good stuff!!* Male reader, aged 19

A compelling insight into the world of cycling, There's  a lot to enjoy here - particularly if cycling is your sport. And he travels so much,  there's an element of   'travel book'    to  it too  .I enjoyed this very much. Male reader, aged 55.

Excerpts from a new review by blue ink review USA

Neale mostly shares general  experiences and anecdotes, depicting adventures and conversations with  colorful characters he met while cycling---particularly in France, but also

in England and  several other Western European countries, Russia, South Africa, etc. There's also some interesting history  about Neale organizing cycling camps in Mallorca.

Booklife review

Excerpts from a new review for my book which will be appearing in the March issue of Midwest Book review  and Donovan's Literary Services, USA

Reinforced by the first person, Cycling 70 Years imparts a vivid series of observations  in a "you are here" tone that captures not just individual relationships and other cultures, but shared  concerns and emotions that connect  disparate worlds.

Readers who are cyclists aiming for competition will find the candid reflections revealing and inspiring ,while those outside the cycling world can participate of its  highs and lows via an armchair read that captures personalities, discoveries, and insights in a vivid manner

Notes from a new review from the very influential USA Book Reviewer IndieReader

CYCLING 70 YEARS ONCE WORLD CHAMPION  unfolds its  material in a casual, confident tone, rattling off the ;names of cyclists and little towns with  obvious   fluency. To an interested party, there is great store here for an in-depth investigation  of these regional tours and the cyclists who rode them; to the general reader, the volume of names still contributes to the overall impression   of command.. The prose can be charming at times. There is an occasional, almost vocal quality to the prose--as though  the writer is talking to a friend. The underlying material is of historical interest

Excerpts from  review Books clan

One of the most unexpected yet delightful segments of the book is Neale's Four-day pilgrimage   ride from, Albufeira to Fatima , showing the multifaceted nature of his adventures.
